“Bioshrouding”—a novel approach for securing reactive mineral tailings

Abstract  A novel technique (“bioshrouding”) for safeguarding highly reactive sulfidic mineral tailings deposits is proposed. In this, freshly milled wastes are colonised with ferric iron-reducing heterotrophic acidophilic ba
